The king of kings


Brancusi Regele RegilorThis marvalous sculpture made out of oak was originally planned to stay inside the Temple of Meditation in India, but the temple was never made.
The King of kings can be interpreted as an attempt by Brancusi to portray into the sculpture the religious power in the East.
The original name was to be The Spirit of Buddha, and Brancusi was well known to be familiar with the Buddhism due to the writings of the tibetan philosopher Milarepa.
