brancusi - childThis work was presented by Brancusi in 1906 at the Salon d'Automne. From the start, romanians critics had expressed their approval. Professor Michael Dragomirescu states that this work was made with extraodanary talent and it is the best seen by him so far.
The work was mostly destroyed during the Second World War, only the head remains intact and it has been restored on the request of the Art Museum on septembrie1956.
The work was exposed at the sixth event of the association, "Artistic Youth" in Bucharest, and was acquired for the State on the recommendation of the painter Stefan Popescu.
