Brancusi - LaocoonAbout the character:

Laocoon was a priest of Apollo, from the Greek mythology from the time of the Trojan War. He opposed the decision to let into the city the giant wooden horse left by the Greeks as an offering to the goddess Minerva saying that it could be just a trick of the Achaeans and that this will bring the end of all.

About the work:

In 1900 Brancusi gets a bronze medal for "Laocoon" in a contest held at the National School of Fine Arts in Bucharest.
